The price of Tesla’s shares, which plummeted 14% on Thursday amid the clash, is up around 4.4% in premarket trading on Friday morning, after Musk signaled he is open to a truce with Trump.

Tesla unveiled upgraded versions of its Model S and Model X electric vehicles late Thursday that will reportedly cost $5,000 more than current iterations.

Not so long ago, Tesla aimed to sell 100,000 Model S/X per year. Now, Tesla is not even reporting Model S/X sales anymore, and they were estimated to be below 50,000 units globally in 2024.

Tesla sold 12,881 "other models" — which include the Model X and S as well as the Cybertruck — in the first quarter of 2025, compared to 323,800 of its mass market Model 3 and Y vehicles.

The automaker has posted a list of updates for the vehicles on X, including a new Frost Blue paint color option and a range of up to 410 miles for the Model S Long Range version.

The Model X AWD and Plaid have jumped to $89,990 and $104,990, respectively. These are Tesla’s latest vehicle updates since launching the refreshed Model Y earlier this year.
