Texas DPS said that as the investigation was underway, the suspect was found driving on SH-71 in Fayette County. Around 1:30 p.m., troopers stopped the suspect vehicle for speeding.
The protest, police say, began around 7 p.m. Monday near the Texas State Capitol, which is part of the Capitol Complex — a 46-square-block area of downtown Austin, which is protected by DPS.
