Fast Retailing said on Tuesday its Uniqlo unit filed a lawsuit in Japan against the operators of Shein, claiming the Chinese fashion company copied its round mini shoulder bag.
Uniqlo is demanding SHEIN, a China-founded company currently based in Singapore, to immediately stop the sale of these “imitation products” along with compensation for damages.
China is one of the biggest markets for Uniqlo, where the brand aims to expand its business. Greater China, including Taiwan and Hong Kong, accounts for more than 20 per cent of the company's revenue.
