The USS Constitution was launched on Oct. 21, 1797, in Boston on this day in history. She went on to a legendary career in naval warfare, earning the famous moniker Old Ironsides.

Constitution is scheduled to leave the Charlestown Navy Yard at 10am. At around noon, the sails will and the ship will sail under its' own power anywhere from 10 mins. to a half hour.

The USS Constitution welcomes more than 500,000 visitors each year, according to the museum website, and is open to visitors from Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
