If you're looking for a simple way to dress up a drab window sill, we have a DIY for you. All you need are some wooden craft blocks, wood glue, ... ¾ inch wide, and 6 inches long.
If you can't find a standard sill, you can make one out of a pressure-treated 2-by-10 or 2-by-12. It has to be as wide as the original sill. Cut the new sill to match the old, then put it in place.
