In November much of Central New York has been placed into yellow and orange zones. These zones have been placed restrictions on people and businesses in an effort to bring down coronavirus numbers.

According to an Oct. 9 state health department guidance, schools in the yellow zones are required to test 20% of in-person students, teachers and staff, at least once a week starting Friday.

See a list of schools in the orange and yellow zones in Onondaga County. The orange zone designation limits gatherings at houses of worship to 33% capacity and caps the number at 25 people.

Orange and yellow zone designations limited activity at restaurants, high-risk businesses and religious gatherings. Additional testing for school students and staff in those zones were also required.

Cuomo has announced that all remaining yellow zones will be lifted on Monday, one week after NY1 reported that the restrictions hadn't been updated. Angi Gonzalez has the report.
