CHICAGO — Nearly 30 bus routes are returning to pre-pandemic service levels, the CTA announced Wednesday. Starting March 24, 29 bus routes will return to near pre-COVID-19 scheduled service levels.

Some also said the agency needs to deploy longer buses on popular routes, such as the Jackson Park Express No. 6 bus. Crowded buses sometimes don’t stop, driving past people waiting.

The CTA said the new route will offer bus service to an additional 21,000 people. It will also allow for connections to the No. 78 Montrose and No. 81 Lawrence buses.
