Through the first month of his time at North Carolina, there’s still a big question around Bill Belichick. There are six NFL head coach openings after the Dallas Cowboys moved on from Mike McCarthy, and multiple reports said teams called the legendary New England Patriots headman to gauge his interest despite just getting to Chapel Hill.

News broke Thursday morning that North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick has still not signed his contract to coach the Tar Heels, leading to speculation that he could be interested in coaching in the NFL in 2025,

"Sources tell CBS Sports — and UNC confirmed this week — that there is no fully-executed and signed contract between Belichick and UNC. And industry sources say that could lead to a legal gray area about how much, if any, of a buyout there would be if Belichick left for the pros.
