Prime Video Takes the Spotlight as Amazon Pulls the Plug on Freevee
According to Amazon, Prime Video will now host its original series and movies, live sports, and ad-supported channels, incorporating the full Freevee catalog. This consolidation allows Amazon to focus on a streamlined subscription model with optional advertisements, which will help enhance the user experience within a unified service.
Amazon pulls the plug on Freevee, its free ad-supported streaming service
Thankfully, all Freevee titles will remain free to stream and won't require a Prime subscription. The change will only apply to regions where Amazon's free ad-supported streaming service is currently available: the US, UK, Germany, and Austria. An Amazon spokesperson issued the following statement to Deadline about the transition:
