According to DPS, Gonzalez-Companioni was allegedly driving a truck-tractor when he fell asleep while driving and crashed into a Ford F-150 that had five people inside.

A 2025 Ford F-250 driven by Eric Wilke, 56, of Frisco crashed into the tractor-trailer after the Freightliner failed to yield the right of way, DPS said. Wilke was pronounced dead at the scene.
