A dozen turtles are now back at home in Lake Champlain.

Researchers on Lake Champlain are trying to figure out how tiny pieces of toxic plastic are getting into the lake, which serves some 200,000 people with drinking water.

Some good news this year-- the lake’s map turtle population is now considered healthy, so map turtles were not part of the program as they have been in past years.
