Starfield might not have had the warmest of receptions amongst all Bethesda fans, but a former Skyrim designer thinks a sequel could be great.

Skyrim lead designer and Starfield systems designer Bruce Nesmith is looking forward to Starfield 2 as the studio continues to learn.

One of the reasons you’ll see bugs in something like a Bethesda game release is how complex these titles are. Bruce noted that you have so many elements working together that releasing a game without some bugs is impossible. There comes a point in development where you have just to decide to publish the game.

Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith has commented on Bethesda's reputation for releasing buggy games. Nesmith has admitted that the studio's games could use "a higher degree of polish", but thinks Bethesda has a good excuse.

"When we built Skyrim, we had the tremendous advantage of Oblivion, which had the tremendous advantage of Morrowind,"

Former Bethesda developer Bruce Nesmith pointed this out in an interview and said that Starfield 2 will be "one hell of a game". That is, of course, something that we'll be waiting a long time to see.
