If you have an older Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you may want to hold off on the latest software update. 9to5Google reported that the update that has been rolling out from Samsung over the past few days is bricking devices from the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series of phones.

According to posts on Reddit, Samsung replaced the buggy update with a new version that won’t brick the five-year-old devices. (The Galaxy S10 series was released in 2019.) Still, some users recommend staying cautious and turning off auto-updates anyway.

Samsung temporarily suspended the SmartThings app update after Galaxy S10 and older devices experienced bootloop issues. The company apologized and is working on a fix, encouraging affected users to seek assistance at service centers.
