That said, it's a damn shame that most players never faced the true final boss. In Sonic Frontiers, there are multiple difficulty modes that, frankly, don't change the game that much.

Sonic Frontiers’ final update, appropriately titled The Final Horizon, advertised itself as bringing a new story; new playable characters in the form of Knuckles, Tails, and Amy, and new challenges.

Phase One – Getting The Final Chaos Emerald. Giganto is impervious to Sonic’s attacks, so don’t bother. Sonic might be strong, but he isn’t a walking-metal-mountain-destroyer…yet.

But in Sonic Frontiers, that’s actually not going to be the case at all, instead impacting how you fight certain bosses. That is, if you can even fight the bosses at all.
