The countdown is on for Mardi Gras on the Northshore! As carnival celebrations continue across Louisiana, residents in St. Tammany Parish are reveling in the Mardi Gras spirit. With Mardi Gras almost one week away,

The all-women Krewe of Nandi returns for its second parade. The group is named for Zulu Queen Nandi kaBhebe, the mother of the warrior and king, Shaka Zulu. The Krewe of Nandi parades in Marrero. According to the Jefferson Parish website, each parade will follow a 4.87-mile route heading east on Veterans Boulevard. The parades are set to start on Veterans Boulevard near the Clearview City Center, head down Veterans Boulevard to Severn Avenue, make a U-turn at 18th Street and end on Veterans Boulevard at Martin Behrman Drive.
