Mar 27, 2018 · Thanks for all the replies. But I’m specifically asking if anyone is rh sensitized NOT rh negative. The rhogam shot (which I’ve had several times) is given to prevent rh sensitization, unfortunately I was Sensitized before I got my most recent shot and it’s a permanent condition. Looking for anyone who has also been through this.

I got my rhogam but found out from my doctors that I had created antibodies beforehand. I’m not getting any clear answers and have been referred to high risk but haven’t heard from them yet....

Jan 7, 2025 · So I have o- blood and I've had several losses so I know my blood is rh sensitized. How soon do I need to get a rhogam shot to prevent by body from attacking this pregnancy? I've only known for 3 days and according to my period I'm almost 5 weeks

May 17, 2024 · Does anyone have any insight on this. I've had a few miscarriages that I know of since I was trying to conceive and had my rhogam. That being said on past relationships I was not very strict about preventing pregnancy and could of had a miscarriage and not of known it which could of lead to rh sensitization....

Feb 11, 2025 · Even with sensitization it’s highly unlikely for that to cause MC early on as antibodies can’t cross until 10-12 weeks when placenta takes over. I am sensitized and on my fourth pregnancy/3rd baby with antibodies and when I had my MC at 7 weeks it wasn’t even a consideration from my MFM if the cause was antibodies.

Jan 5, 2024 · So far my thought is to opt out until baby is born and blood type is tested, or if there is a high risk sensitization event. I am super frustrated because I am very anti-injections, but the consequences of sensitization seem to outweigh the risk. Any info, encouragement or advice would be appreciated!

Jan 29, 2021 · The Rhogam shot is used to prevent RH sensitization, where if a RH negative mother carries a RH positive baby certain antibodies can get into the baby's blood and start destroying the Rh protein on the baby's blood cells, if this happens it can cause jaundice, anemia, organ damage or failure, or in extreme circumstances fetal death.
