Xabier "Xabi" Alonso Olano (born 25 November 1981), is a Spanish manager and retired footballer. He played as a midfielder. The last club he played for was Bayern Munich. Alonso also played for the Spain national team from 2003 until 2014.

Xabi Alonso was appointed to the position of head coach at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in October 2022. The Spaniard had performed the same function for his homeland club of Real Sociedad in the Basque city of San Sebastian with the second team.
