The Palm Springs Cultural Center plans to bring the big-screen movie experience back in the next two weeks, but it won’t be inside the Camelot Theatres. They plan instead to use the center’s parking lot on East Baristo Road to create their own drive-in movie theater.

Three theatre inside, one has the largest screen in the Coachella Valley and seats 500, and one has been converted into a playhouse with a stage and restrooms. Outside there is patio seating, a promenade, drive-in area all within walking distance of downtown Palm Springs. The center was founded by Ric and Rozene Supple.

The Palm Springs Cultural Center supports cultural programs including film festivals, farmers' markets, live performances, art, theatre, lectures and more!

Jan 15, 2024 · During the pandemic, board member Ann Sheffer funded an outdoor screening system to convert the parking lot into a “drive-in” theater. That equipment has since allowed the center to take its mission off-site with free, classic family flicks in the park across from Palm Springs Art Museum.
